Kingston Beach Golf Club Inc. (ABN 81 577 044 600) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can access it or raise a concern.

We have adopted the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) as our standard for handling personal information, and we apply them across the club's operations and this website.

1. Information We Collect

Most of the personal information we hold is given to us directly by members and visitors, not gathered through this website. It helps to separate the two.

Information you give the club

• Name, address, email address, and phone number
• Membership category and subscription details
• Golf Australia handicap information
• Competition entry and results data
• Payment information, processed by our payment providers. We do not store card details.

Information collected through this website

Very little. This website does not have member accounts, does not process payments, and does not set cookies.

• Anonymous usage statistics, collected by our hosting provider, Vercel. These measure page views and loading performance. They do not use cookies, do not track you across other websites, and do not build a profile of you.
• Standard server records, such as your IP address and browser type, kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
• Nothing from our contact form. The contact form opens a message in your own email program. It does not send anything to this website and this website does not store what you write.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

• Manage your club membership and subscriptions
• Process competition entries and record results
• Communicate club news, events, and updates
• Process payments and manage financial records
• Meet our obligations to Golf Australia
• Understand how this website is used, so we can improve it

3. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not provide member lists to our sponsors. We share information only where it is necessary, including with:

• Golf Australia, for handicap and competition management
• MiClub, the platform that runs our member portal, bookings and competitions
• Service providers who help us run the club and this website
• Anyone else where we are required or authorised by law

4. Overseas Disclosure

Some of the services behind this website are operated outside Australia, which means information handled by them may be stored or processed overseas:

• Vercel Inc. (United States) hosts this website and provides its analytics.
• Sanity AS (Norway, with hosting in the United States and Europe) stores the website's content, such as news posts and sponsor details.
• Google LLC (United States) provides the embedded map on our contact page. See section 5.

5. The Map on Our Contact Page

Our contact page includes a map provided by Google Maps. When that page loads, your browser connects directly to Google, which discloses your IP address, browser details, and the page you came from to Google LLC in the United States. This happens whether or not you interact with the map, and Google handles that information under its own privacy policy rather than ours.

If you would rather not load the map, you can reach us using the address, phone number, or email in section 8 instead.

6. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. Information is stored securely and access is restricted to authorised staff and committee members who need it for their role.

7. Access, Correction and Complaints

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. There is no charge for making a request, and we will normally respond within 30 days.

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please raise it with us first. Write to the Privacy Contact at the address in section 8, or email info@kbgc.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it within 30 days.
